Rooted in the Gospel. Centred on Jesus. Shaped by Scripture.
At Home Church, what we believe is not just a set of ideas — it’s the good news that shapes our lives and unites us as a diverse family. We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is for all people, in all places, and across all cultures. It tells us who God is, who we are, and how we can be brought home to him through Jesus.
Three Words That Describe Us

Evangelical
We are an Evangelical church, which means we believe the Bible is God’s true and trustworthy Word, and that the gospel — the good news of Jesus Christ — is central to everything we do. We believe that every person needs to be born again through personal faith in Jesus, and we are committed to sharing this message with others in both word and deed. As evangelicals, we aim to be clear on the truth, compassionate in our witness, and confident in the power of the gospel to bring lasting hope and transformation.

Reformed
We are a Reformed church, which means our beliefs are rooted in the conviction that salvation is entirely by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the whole Bible tells one unified story — of God redeeming a people for himself through Jesus — and that this good news shapes every part of life. We value the historic Reformed confessions, especially the Westminster Confession of Faith, as faithful summaries of what the Bible teaches, helping us walk in truth with humility, hope, and joy.

Presbyterian
We are a Presbyterian church, which means we are led by a team of elders who shepherd and serve the congregation together, rather than by a single leader. This reflects our belief in shared leadership and mutual accountability. We practise covenant baptism, welcoming believers and their children into the visible church as a sign of God’s covenant grace. Our worship and life together are shaped by the regular, Spirit-filled rhythms of gathered worship, the preaching of God’s Word, prayer, and the sacraments.

Our Faith: Historic, Reformed, and Christ-Centred
Our beliefs are grounded in the Bible and expressed through the historic Reformed tradition. The Reformed tradition emphasises the sovereignty of God, salvation by grace alone, and the centrality of Scripture in all of life and faith.
We hold to the historic Christian faith expressed in the Nicene, Athanasian, and Chalcedonian Creeds. We also affirm the Westminster Confession of Faith, along with its Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
These statements of faith reflect a high view of God, his Word, his creation, and his church, as well as a realistic understanding of our human brokenness and need for grace. While these documents sit beneath the authority of the Bible, we believe they beautifully and faithfully summarise what the Bible teaches.
But if words like “Presbyterian,” “confession,” or “catechism” feel unfamiliar—please don’t worry. Think of them like scaffolding around a building under construction: they help support, shape, and protect what’s being built—but they’re not the building itself. At the heart of everything we believe and do is Jesus Christ himself.
We’d love to walk with you as we learn what it means to follow him together.
